FAQs

How much does registration cost?  You can register for either 1 year at the cost of  $33.00 or 3 years for $82.50.  All prices include GST.

How do I register? What do I need to provide?  To register, you firstly need to  complete a training course or receive recognition of prior learning.

You will then need to fully complete a registration form, attach payment and provide a copy of the training records or training certificate stating the course you have completed. A registration form can be found on this website.

How can I pay?  TITAB Australia accept payment via Cheque, Money Order, Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Diners.  Or, if you are coming into our office in Carlton South, Victoria you may also pay by Eftpos or cash.

Where can I do training? TITAB can supply you with a full list of Training Providers (Tafes, Universities, and Registered Training Organisations) known to deliver telecommunications courses that you can contact.  A list of these is also available on this website under Training & Assessment

I have many years of previous experience, but am not currently registered. What do I do? You will need to contact one of our Registered Assessors who may be able to provide you with some recognition of prior learning.  A list of these Assessors are also available under the Training & Assessment section of this webpage.

What is Recognition of Prior Learning?  RPL is recognition and acknowledgment through assessment of competencies held and acquired through prior learning, formal training, work experience or life experience.

How long does it take to process a registration?  Once we have received your fully completed registration application form, payment and correct training records it will take approximately 7-10 working days for you to receive a tax receipt, certificate and registration card in the mail.

What evidence do I need to provide?  To become registered with TITAB you will need to supply the relevant training records from a registered training organisation.

There a number of different training options to gain cabler registration. A copy of the Pathways to ACMA Cabler Registration is available on this website under Training and Assessment to help explain the correct course to attend.

Does CPR registration meet all OH & S requirements?  Basic OH & S requirements are met in CPR competencies, however some states,  territories and companies often require additional training in OH & S.  Introduction of new technologies such as ADSL will require training in handling higher power than that traditionally encountered in telecommunications.

Do I need a Standards Australia Customer Cabling Manual?  This was a mandatory requirement under the previous licensing system.  While not mandated by ACMA, a cabling manual is still needed under CPR’s and should be updated to cater for variations to technical standards such as AS3080, AS008 and AS009.  ACMA also issue statements from time to time that are required reading for cablers.
