CITT was established in 1995 as a National Industry Training Company, responsible for the Promotion of Training Packages and New Apprenticeships within the Information Technology and Telecommunications industries.  CITT has now incorporated the TITAB Australia Cabler Registry Services into the organisation.

CITT is comprised of 3 divisions:

1.  On a  fee for service basis, the Consultancy Division manages the administration associated with training within the ICT Industry

2.  The Industry Programs Division is contracted by governments to provide advice and assistance to New Apprenticeship Centres (NACs), Registered Training Organisations (RTO's), Industry Associations and others on the ICT Training Packages

3.  The TITAB Australia Cabler Registry Services Division manages the Cabling Provider Registrar obligations on behalf of the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA)
