This project aims to promote Telecommunications training, VET qualifications and Apprenticeship options and provide employees, school leavers and unemployed the opportunity to obtain qualifications, from Certificate III to Certificate IV level. The qualifications will be delivered from the nationally endorsed ICT10 training package.
To assist with this, CITT and TITAB have been working with a number of TAFE's across Victoria and have managed to secure some partially funded positions in the Certificate III in Telecommunications.
The qualification has been developed for employment roles involving installation of telecommunications equipment and products on either enterprise or customer premises, including installation of voice and data telecommunications equipment.
This role includes assessing installation requirements, planning and performing installations, testing installed equipment and fault finding.
Completion of the course will allow you to obtain the Optical Fibre, Structured Cabling (CAT5) and Co-Axial endorsements on your current registration as well as awarding you a full nationally recognized qualification.
